What to Expect in a Water Claim
- A TCR estimator or trained technician will arrive at your property to assess the damage, obtain a signed authorization, discuss/collect deductible.
- A TCR crew of trained technicians will arrive to begin work – they may perform any or all of the following:
- take moisture, temperature and humidity readings
- protect your contents (pack out, re-box, cover with plastic, set on blocks)
- poly off unaffected areas
- extract/pump out water
- remove any damaged carpet, pad, drywall, paneling, trim, etc.
- clean and disinfect affected areas
- set up equipment – dehumidifiers, air movers, air scrubber
- remove debris
- list and remove contents to be disposed, cleaned or stored off site
- The next day a trained technician will arrive to take moisture, temperature and humidity readings – reposition, add or remove drying equipment – technician will return for additional claim checks until structure is dry
- A TCR estimator (sometimes with an insurance adjuster) will arrive to scope the damage. The estimator will prepare an estimate to return your property to its pre-loss condition.
- Once the estimate has been approved by the insurance company the repair work can be scheduled.
